So I migrated my mods for Dragon Age 2 from the old Nexus Mod Manager to Vortex and reinstalled my mods. I noticed that Vortex isn't adding the separate Chargenmorpvfg.xml files to the override folder so the mods aren't working right.
I recently installed 13 mods for Dragon Age 2, among them being a female game launcher, but as I tested them on both new and already exists characters, none of them seemed to work. Then a "\dazip" and a "\override" folder below that to store the mods themeselves. That whole folder set could be anywhere on the drive, but I choose to put it under "\[user's documents]\Bioware\Dragon Age", just to keep all my DA mod stuff together. :thumbsup:
You just have to play the game to see. And the vast majority of mods for DAO (including all the ones that go in the "\override" folder) are not ".dazip" files. (mods with heavy background scripting can also be problematic.) Turning off any overlays programs (such as the EA/Steam/GOG in-game features, or screencapping programs like Fraps) will help. The mods leave some elements in 'My Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age\packages\core\override' - I disabled them and cleared out those folders left behind and they're gone now. @ Antediluvian I found these additional files while uninstalling a mod:
Make a new folder in there. Call it "Merged Mods". 7:Open up the mod manager. It will prompt you for the location of your Dragon Age executable. Give it to it. (The executable for the game.) 8: Give it your mod path. (Hit browse next to the mod path bar.) This is the folder you extracted all your mods to. Give it that. 9: The list should populate.
