Farther towards the bottom, a three year. It all comes down to money and cost of putting a cadet through ROTC. The only difference is that 4 year winners will contract their first year and start receiving the stipend and benefits. 3 year winners will have to wait until their sophomore year to contract and receive benefits. Hope this helps.

This last week she found out that the 3 year Advanced Designee Army Scholarship was upgraded to a 4 year. Up until this point, she was going Navy due to the greater scholarship potential and her research on the Navy.

Due to volume, they may not review them all in the first board. Some will receive scholarships, some may receive rejection notices, some will be moved forward into the next boards.
1) Last year, there were 3 year scholarship recipients that were able to work with the school and get upgraded to a 4 year. 2) My D goes to one of those $30K+ schools. Before she got the ROTC scholarship, we were awarded $14K in grants/loans, etc from the school and that was after doing nothing but the FAFSA which basically said we make too ...
Monetarily, a 3 year national scholarship is the same as a 3 year campus based, the only difference being the campus-based scholarships are only good at the school offering the scholarship. My advice to all high school students interested in an AROTC scholarship: apply for the national scholarship regardless of how strong you feel your chances are.
47. Sep 30, 2019. #1. For the AROTC fitness test for the 4-year scholarship, thé applicant must complete 1min of pushups, 1min of sit-ups, then a 1mile run. I (Female) just practiced and got 25 pushups and 27 sit-ups, I haven’t done the run yet but expect around 8 minutes. Does anyone know if this is a good score or what a good score is?
I had a similar situation as you. I was good academically and leadership wise, but not the best physically. It will probably be tough to get a four year, but I say you have very good chances at getting a 3 or 3.5 year scholarship. I ended up with a 3 year scholarship. Either way it's money and it guarantees you a contracting slot.
I was recently awarded a 4-year Army ROTC scholarship but have been disqualified by DoDMERB for a peanut allergy (I've already gone through the medical exams for the SAs back in November so DoDMERB just transferred my information to AROTC). Yes, I know that the ROTC cadre at the university I... VN-Commission.
3. Feb 4, 2018. #1. My son is a sophomore in college. He is a three-year Army ROTC scholarship winner. He began taking ROTC classes first semester of his freshman year, however, this past fall semester was the first disbursement of his scholarship money. Now that he has been taking the classes and getting involved with the program for the last ...
