Davy Crockett Lake is a 355-acre (143.66 ha; 0.55 sq mi) impounded body of water in the Caddo National Grassland on Dixon and Sandy creeks. It is located on FM 409, 14 miles (23 km) northeast of Bonham in Fannin County in the U.S. state of Texas. The lake has two geographical fingers, known as Crockett East and Crockett West.
Ratcliff Lake Recreation Area is a developed park within the Davy Crockett National Forest near Kennard, Texas, United States.The park surrounds a 45-acre (18 ha) lake that was once a mill pond and source of water for a sawmill which operated from 1902 to 1920.
The lake and dam are owned by the Monterey County Water Authority. The lake has a capacity of 350,000 acre-feet (430,000,000 m 3). Lake San Antonio's primary purpose is to provide groundwater. Without the lake, the San Antonio River would be nearly dry in the summer months. With water in the river year-round, more of it can seep into the ground.
The WMA has four units: Mission Lake Unit (4,447.62 acres), Hynes Bay Unit (1007.72 acres), Guadalupe River Unit (1138 acres), and the San Antonio Unit (818 acres). State and federally threatened species observed: brown pelican, reddish egret, white-faced ibis, wood stork, bald eagle, white-tailed hawk, peregrine falcon, and whooping crane.
