The following day, Carol sees Lizzie attempting to play tag with a walker, and she runs out and kills it. Lizzie becomes upset and yells at Carol for having killed her "friend". Later, Carol takes Mika to hunt in the forest, but Mika finds she cannot bring herself to shoot a deer.
Matt Fowler of IGN gave the episode a 7 out of 10, writing: "Though some of Carol's meandering, and Ezekiel's trek, felt trite, "Look at the Flowers" was still busy enough overall to plant seeds for more interesting things to come... It was a cool-down chapter, but an effective one."
In the episode "Inmates", Lizzie, Mika and Tyreese are shown to have escaped the prison with Judith. Lizzie kills a group of rabbits, and during a walker attack she covers Judith's mouth to try to stop her from crying but nearly smothers the baby. Carol finds the children, and then takes them to Tyreese.
Sleepless that night, Carol opens a diary which seems to be a list of the people she has killed: Ryan Samuels; Karen; David; Lizzie; approximately seven at Terminus; and seven Wolves. She totals it to 18 lives taken, circling the number as it weighs on her conscience. Carol walks aimlessly, smoking again, and finds Tobin also restless.
Tyreese, Carol, Lizzie, Mika and Judith follow signs to Terminus and come across a cabin where they plan to take a few days of rest. Tyreese and Carol find Lizzie has an unhealthy fascination with walkers. Later, after coming back with supplies, they find Lizzie has killed Mika and is about to kill Judith, hoping they will come back as walkers.
"They took away my heart, my rock, my soul, and I don't know how to go on," her daughter said.
