The Fort Lauderdale Swap Shop is an 80 acre indoor and outdoor flea market, featuring a 14-screen drive-in theater in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.From 1989–2006 the Hanneford Family Circus performed daily (except Tuesdays) in the Swap Shop food court, entertaining the roughly 12 million people who visit each year.
The market is actually held on the Thursday through Sunday preceding the first Monday of each month. It purports to be the largest and oldest continually operated flea market in the United States, and is a highly popular event in the area. Depending on the time of year, up to 100,000 shoppers frequent the fair in a weekend. [1]
