It began as a four-year high school for grades 9–12. Grades seven and eight were added later to form a junior-senior high school. In 1997, a $1-million building expansion was completed and sixth grade was added to the school. Today, Central Catholic consists of a middle school for grades 6-8 and a high school for grades 9–12.
Board members are voted at large and serve four-year staggered terms. The board sets school policies within the guidelines of state and federal law and the Nebraska State Board of Education. Board meetings are held the second Monday of each month at the Auburn Schools Central Office board room, located at 1713 J Street, Auburn, Nebraska.
