Brandon is a city in and the county seat of Rankin County, Mississippi, United States. [4] It was incorporated on December 19, 1831. The population was 25,138 as of the 2020 census. A suburb of Jackson, Brandon is part of the Jackson Metropolitan Area, and is located east of the state capital.
The walls were made two feet thick of solid rock held together with cement. It is thought to be the first two-storied building in Brandon." The building was one of few that survived a large fire in 1924, and is currently believed to be the oldest structure in the downtown district area.

Brandon Hall, 1937. Brandon Hall was formally a large working cotton plantation located on the scenic Natchez Trace. The land on which Brandon Hall now stands first passed into private ownership as a royal grant from the Spanish King Carlos III in 1788. In 1809 the property was sold at public auction to William Lock Chew for the sum of $7,000.
