Small Polish rabbits were bred with smaller wild rabbits; [3] after several generations the resulting animal was a very small domestic rabbit available in a wide variety of colours and patterns.

French Lops weigh 4.5–6.8 kg (10–15 lb) while Netherland Dwarfs only weigh around 0.5–1.1 kg (1.1–2.5 lb).
