In the United Kingdom, a trust port is a port that is administrated as a trust by an independent statutory body set up by an Act of Parliament and governed by its own set of rules and statutes. [ 1 ] [ 2 ] This is in contrast to a private port, which is privately owned, and a municipal port, which is owned by the local authority .

In the United Kingdom, the term public inquiry, also known as a tribunal of inquiry, refers to either statutory or non-statutory inquiries that have been established either previously by the monarch or by government ministers of the United Kingdom, Scottish, Northern Irish and Welsh governments to investigate either specific, controversial events or policy proposals.
Trusts and fiduciary duties matter when property is managed by one person for another's benefit. Most trust money, which is invested by financial institutions around the City's Royal Exchange, [1] comes from people saving for retirement. [2] In 2011, UK pension funds held over £1 trillion of assets, and unit trusts held £583.8 billion. [3]
In 2005 the government announced that the number of strategic health authorities and primary care trusts would be reduced, the latter by about 50 per cent. The result was that, as of 1 October 2006, there were 152 PCTs (reduced from 303) in England, with an average population of just under 330,000 per trust.
