Haikyu!! (ハイキュー!!, Haikyū!!, from the kanji 排球 "volleyball") is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Haruichi Furudate.It was serialized in Shueisha's shōnen manga magazine Weekly Shōnen Jump from February 2012 to July 2020, with its chapters collected in 45 tankōbon volumes.
Hinata, Kageyama, Nishinoya, and Tanaka dread not being able to go to Tokyo to play if they do not pass their final exams. Nishinoya and Tanaka study at the latter's place. Hinata and Kageyama, however, have troubles with studying with Tsukishima, who proves to be of no help as a tutor.
Formerly a track and field club member, she agrees to manage the volleyball team at Daichi's request. Though aloof and quiet, she cares deeply about the team and its success. Her perceived attractiveness results in unwanted advances from members of opposing teams and makes her the target of Nishinoya and Tanaka's unyielding affection.
Daichi is able to receive with Nishinoya sending the last hit to Asahi. The ace spikes past a double block but Akagi is able to receive which allows the twins to score once again. As Karasuno struggles to find ways to stop them, Hinata is given an important task with the hope of allowing Karasuno to gain control of the game.
When Daichi turns it into a deuce at 14-14 however, tension begins to rise. As Shiratorizawa scores again, Karasuno begins to deflate. Karasuno's morale is low, but Keishin shouts to the players that volleyball is a sport where they're always have to look in the air and the team morale rises.
During a jog, Hinata gets lost and runs into a volleyball player in a red jersey named Kenma Kozume. Kenma reveals what team he plays for one of his teammates show up and leads him off to a practice match. After hesitating to decide a starting lineup, Ukai goes with Sawamura, Nishinoya, Azumane, Ryuunosuke, Tsukishima, Kageyama, and Hinata.
