Linn Creek is a city in Camden County, Missouri, United States. The population was 216 at the 2020 census. [4] The original Linn Creek, which was the former county seat of Camden County, Missouri, is now under water, in the Lake of the Ozarks. Construction of the Bagnell Dam that created the lake was begun August 8, 1929.
The community is located adjacent to the confluence of Bennett Spring Branch with the Niangua River, a north-flowing tributary of Lake of the Ozarks and part of the Osage River watershed, which flows northeast to the Missouri River. The spring itself is located approximately one mile south along Bennett Spring Branch within the park boundaries. [4]
Osage Beach was founded in 1886 as Zebra before being renamed as Osage Beach in 1935. Osage Beach was incorporated in 1959. [4] [5]When the Lake of the Ozarks was created, it caused the flooding of much of Zebra.
