Fromis 9 (Korean: 프로미스나인; stylized as fromis_9) is a South Korean girl group formed by CJ E&M through the 2017 reality show Idol School.The group is composed of eight members: Roh Ji-sun, Song Ha-young, Lee Sae-rom, Lee Chae-young, Lee Na-gyung, Park Ji-won, Lee Seo-yeon, and Baek Ji-heon.
On July 18, 2024, Pledis Entertainment announced that Fromis 9 would be releasing their fifth single album Supersonic on August 12. [1] Five days later, the promotional schedule was released. [ 2 ] On July 24, the track listing was released with "Supersonic" announced as the lead single. [ 3 ]
"Supersonic" is described as a Miami bass song with "a harmonious blend of heavy bass and fast-paced beats", [8] and "sensual melody on top of a fast-tempo beat". [9] It is described as “somewhat a departure from their previous summer releases, trading the ‘more refreshing and brighter vibes’ for ‘powerful, fiery energy’.”

On December 15, 2021, Pledis Entertainment announced that Fromis 9 would be releasing a new extended play in January 2022. [1] On December 30, it was announced the extended play would be release on January 17, 2022, and titled Midnight Guest, in the same announcement, a concept trailer was also released. [2]
