The Myrtle Beach area is under a tornado watch until 5 p.m. Tuesday, according to the NWS. The storm is expected to move slowly, resulting in “catastrophic” amounts of rainfall.
The following have announced closings or cancellations because of the storm that is expected to bring heavy rain and strong winds that could develop into tornadoes.
