Tyler Independent School District is an independent school district based in Tyler, Texas . In addition to serving most of Tyler, the district serves the city of Noonday and rural areas in west central Smith County. Notable alumni include Earl Campbell and Sandy Duncan (Tyler Legacy High).
The school was named Tyler High School from 1880 until 1958; and in 1958 the name was changed to John Tyler High School, named after the 10th President of the United States. [2] In 2020, the Tyler I.
