SVG images can be hand coded or produced by the use of a vector graphics editor, such as Inkscape, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Flash Professional, or CorelDRAW, and rendered to common raster image formats such as PNG using the same software.
It is recommended to name the SVG file “Open Access logo with dark text for contrast, on transparent background.svg”—then the template Vector version available (or Vva) does not need the new image name parameter.

This image shows the results of overlaying each of the above transparent PNG images on a background color of #6080A0. Note the gray fringes on the letters of the middle image. This shows how the above images would look when, for example, editing them. The grey and white check pattern would be converted into transparency.
