Psych is an American detective comedy-drama television series created by Steve Franks for USA Network. [1] The series stars James Roday as Shawn Spencer, a young crime consultant for the Santa Barbara Police Department whose "heightened observational skills" [2] and impressive eidetic memory allow him to convince people that he solves cases with his psychic abilities.
Shawn, Gus and Rachael's son witness a trapeze artist fall to his death, which drives a wedge between Gus and Rachael. In the meantime, Lassiter's girlfriend Marlowe ( Kristy Swanson ) is released from prison, but her parole officer ( Katy Mixon ) has an axe to grind against Lassiter since he rejected her after a one-night stand.
The series follows Shawn Spencer (James Roday) and his colleague and best friend Burton "Gus" Guster , who claim to operate a psychic detective agency; it is actually based on Shawn's hyperobservant ability.
