Drayton Manor High School was founded in 1930 as a county grammar school serving local children. With the reorganisation of schools in the London Borough of Ealing and abolition of the tripartite system, Drayton Manor received its first comprehensive intake in 1975, and changed its name to reflect this change in status.

Elthorne Park High School (sometimes abbreviated to 'EPHS') is a secondary school located just off Boston Road (the A3002) in Hanwell, a town in the London Borough of Ealing. It provides education for pupils aged from 11 (year 7), until 18 (year 13).
It is composed of the former Compton High School and Northolt Primary School. Both areas are close to Reed’s childhood home in Hounslow, and to his former school, Drayton Manor Grammar. Reed’s involvement with the academy began in November 2001, when he sponsored Compton High School.
