    I went to a Sig or HK armorer class about 15 years ago where the instructor said the sights were regulated for POA/POI at 25 meters. He explained the path of the bullet would always be covered by the sight picture at typical self defense ranges. So the term "combat hold" was introduced because everyone was shooting low with their guns.
