I was actually exploring all options that is why i mentioned another company. I’m actually new to filing taxes especially by myself. I have everything ready in turbo tax as well to be submitted. I just wanted to know if I submit my taxes through turbotax now and get a NOA in a few weeks…. I’d then be able to make my new CRA account right?
I just called CRA. The agent says the problem of ERR.210 is that in the past 3 years people did not file a tax return to the CRA. For new tax residents in Canada, people should file their first tax return to the CRA. After receiving the notice of assessment, they can register a new CRA account with the S.I.N. number.
As well as what others have suggested you can log into your Service Canada account and use its CRA link to see your CRA account. (But that won't be a solution if you are trying to use your tax software's autofill option.) I’ve had zero issues using my desktop. Using my phone or iPad however hasn’t worked once.
CRA locked account - my experience. I was one of the users who was affected by the recent 'data breach' which locked tens of thousands of people out of their CRA account. I haven't received any direct communication from the CRA in regards to this outside of the email that my email address has been removed from my account.
If you don’t know your password or questions you would have to re-register. CRA can only reset your attempts. If you re-register you’ll have access to all of the same information. Call CRA and they can unlock your account. But you can't change your security questions, you'll have to make another account.
Tried to sign in to CRA using MS Edge and it worked! I was using chrome on my laptop and it did not work, I switched to Microsoft edge and it worked just fine, its probably a browser issue so if this happens again switch to another browser. Had the same problem, open a new tab in incognito and it works just fine.
ANSWER: 10,000 CRA account login were released on the dark web. You have to call in with SIN and a previous tax return. Change info and a security question. I'm not sure that's actually true. I've been locked out of my account 2 years in a row while trying to file my taxes while outside the country.
If you have "My Account" set up with CRA online, you can change your address from your account: sign in your account. on the right-hand-side menu under "Related services": click on "Change my address and phone number". If you don't have "My account" set up, you can call CRA at 1800-959-8281. I hope this was helpful.
You don't. You wait for your Notice of Assessment in the mail and then you can create a MyAccount on CRA. It’s my first year filing taxes so my CRA account is non existent right now. So I called CRA to see how I am able to receive CERB/CESB and I just need to change my address with the operator.
I finally got access back into my CRA account after a long battle with them when my account was part of the data breach back in 2019-2020. I logged into my account, and under "Accounts and Payments" tab, it says Account Balance and statement of account Income tax balance: $0.00 Available payment(s) Balance: 8261.00 Credit
