The story appears to be inspired by the story of Hansel and Gretel , published by the Brothers Grimm , albeit having a less dark scenario.

Adventures of the Gummi Bears is an American animated children's television series created by Jymn Magon and produced by Walt Disney Television Animation. [1] The series, loosely inspired by gummy bear candies, [2] takes place in a fantasy world of medieval lands and magic, and focuses on the lives of seven mystical beings known as Gummi Bears.
A pregnant young girl named Emily, who is in love with her softball coach, runs away from home but is taken in to be "saved" by Cheyenne. After a tour of Sugar Town Candy Fudge and "Cocaine-o", the cocaine-spewing volcano, a brief time skip occurs and the young girl, now a teen mother trying to take care of her child, is dragged away from home by Cheyenne for a party.
She also recorded under the name "Candy Johnson's Exciters." The Exciters were a band her agent (and future husband) Red Gilson managed and partnered her with. The recordings of Candy and the Exciters were released by Canjo Records, a private label started by Johnson and Gilson in 1964 to capitalize on her club and film appearances.
