Don Harvey Francks was born on February 28, 1932, and was adopted shortly after his birth. [1] His mother worked at a music store and his father was an electrician. As a child, he performed on Vancouver radio doing imitations of singers.
Francks was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He is the son of Canadian actor and musician Don Francks and Plains Cree-African-American dancer Lili Red Eagle, who is originally from North Richmond, California. He is an adopted honorary member of the Red Pheasant Cree Nation, a First Nation of Canada. He is also the younger brother of Cree Summer.

She is best known for her extensive work in animation, voicing characters such as Elmyra Duff in Tiny Toon Adventures and related media, Susie Carmichael in Rugrats and Lizard in Spirit Rangers, for which she won a NAACP Image Awards and received two nominations at the Children's and Family Emmy Awards.
