Michael Morton (born 1964) is an American restaurateur. He is the co-founder of Morton Group which operates La Cave Wine & Food Hideaway inside Wynn Las Vegas, CRUSH inside MGM Grand and La Comida in Downtown Las Vegas. [1] He is also the former owner and co-founder of N9NE Group and the son of Arnie Morton, the founder of the Morton's Steakhouse.
The Nine Group opened Drink in Las Vegas in 1995. Six years later, in 2001, George J. Maloof, Jr. of the Maloof family and owner of the Palms Hotel and Casino asked DeGraff and Morton to recreate their Chicago steakhouse N9NE and after-hours Ghostbar at the Palms. [2]
While the club was in the process of changing its menu, Fritsch prepared a hamburger for Morton to sample. Morton said the burger was the best he'd ever tasted. Together, they opened Morton's of Chicago in Newberry Plaza in Downtown Chicago. The original location closed in November 2020 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. [10] [11] [12] [13]

In 1978, Morton closed the Hyde Park location to open the first Morton's Steakhouse (see below). In the 1970s, he and Klitsch opened several successful ventures in Chicago's Newberry Plaza including Arnie's on Chicago's Gold Coast ; [ 4 ] the seafood restaurant LaMer; [ 7 ] and the disco/night club Zorrine's (named after Morton's wife).
Morton is the son of Arnie Morton, founder of the Morton's Steakhouse chain. [1] His father was of Jewish descent. [2] In 1969, he graduated from the University of Denver with a B.S.B.A. in restaurant and hotel management. [3] His twin sister is Pam Morton; and his half-brother is restaurateur and businessman Michael Morton.
Vic & Anthony's is an American steakhouse restaurant chain with locations in Downtown Houston, and inside the Golden Nugget Casinos in Las Vegas, Atlantic City and Lake Charles. [1] [2] Vic & Anthony's is owned and operated by Landry's, Inc. [3]
The restaurant was founded in an old hardware store with a business area of 300 square metres. The premises were renovated in a volunteer effort attended by 70 local people. The restaurant was named after an 18th-century American politician. The roots of John Morton's great-grandfather are said to have come from Rautalampi. [4]
