Chciken bog is really more of a PeeDee/Grand Strand thing. To be honest it used to be a phrase you only heard in Horry County & surrounding areas. I remember a friend's sister dating a guy form Florence in college. It's only about 45 miles away but his response to 'chicken bog' was WTH? That said Chrome Kitty's linked recipe is pretty spot on.
8 chicken boullion cubes 1/4 cup black pepper. Place chicken in pot and cover with water and bring to boil. Add sausage to cook in with chicken. When chicken is done, remove and debone. Measure liquid to use with the amount of rice you want. Add chicken, uncooked rice, bouillon, and black pepper to pot of sausage and cook until rice is done.
This was something else I grew up with in SC and like the chicken bog was surprised when I found out the rest of the country does not eat them. They are a lot more common than chicken bog but they are almost unobtainable even here in Charlotte.
Chicken Bog originated from the days when there used to be rice farms there and rice was a bigger staple than wheat in the very isolated Horry county area. There is a rice museum in Georgetown and I believe they may sell a couple of local recipe books about the dish.

Shane, I've seen it on the menu at Brookgreen Gardens and there is a little tiny place in Murrell's Inlet called Graham's Landing where it was offered about a month ago...don't know how often those menus change, but you could call and ask, or check one of the online things like open table or yelp to see if its currently available.
