The Round Chair (Danish: Den Runde Stol, also known as The Chair in America, The Classic Chair in Britain, and by the model numbers PP501, PP503, JH501, and JH503) is an armchair designed by Hans Wegner in 1949. The chair was a collaboration of Wegner and the now-defunct furniture maker Johannes Hansen.
Hans Jørgensen Wegner (April 2, 1914 – January 26, 2007) was a Danish furniture designer. [4] His work, along with a concerted effort from several of his manufacturers, [ 5 ] contributed to the international popularity of mid-century Danish design .
The Wishbone Chair, also known as the CH24 Chair or Y Chair is a chair designed by Hans Wegner in 1949 for Carl Hansen & Søn. The chair features a bentwood armrest and a paper cord rope seat in a woven envelope pattern. The chair is named after the Y or wishbone-shaped backrest. The design was inspired by Ming-era chairs. It was originally produced by Johannes Hansen but its currently produced by PP Møbler under the model number PP550.
