R-click the Riot client in the systems tray and the League icon shows, but the word League of Legends is missing and it's not launchable from the Riot client (which also prevents the LoL shortcut from working properly). I think I have linked it to the 'remember me for 30 days' in the Riot client login.
Make sure, nothing about the game is running (check the processes on the lower right of your screen). Riot Games launcher, vanguard and other affiliated programs must not be running. Then uninstall using the system settings. Btw, I agree with your comments about the Riot client :)
Ever since Riot games were added to Xbox Gamepass it will keep opening Riot games client automatically even if I close it. After few seconds it will open again. It shows the icon in taskbar.

There is a setting for Riot Client called "enable_system_tray" and it's directly related to whether the Riot Client automatically minimizers to system tray. But the LeagueClient.exe shortcut works because it doesn't prompt with a Riot client window if credentials are stored already.
