The Bayport Blue Point Heritage Association has restored the mansion and offers seasonal tours and exhibits of local history. The estate is located on the grounds of Sans Souci County Park, [ 3 ] and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1987.
The earliest known inhabitants of Sayville were the Secatogue tribe of the Algonquian peoples. Sayville was founded by John Edwards (b. 1738) of East Hampton, New York.
