Quad (branded as QUAD and also known as Derby QUAD), is an arts centre in Derby, England, first opened on 26 September 2008. [1] Quad provides an art gallery, three cinemas (two large cinemas and a smaller relaxed room known as "The Box" showing small lesser known films), artists’ studios, and a cafe bar. [2]
It showed many independent, arthouse and foreign films, as well as some older mainstream films. [1] [2] For most of its life, the cinema was located on Green Lane, but it relocated to the University of Derby campus in 2007. In 2008, it closed, in preparation for a move to the new Derby QUAD development in the city centre. [2]
The film received a limited release on March 21, 2014. It was directed by Jim Wilson, who also co-wrote the script with Faith Conroy, and stars Skeet Ulrich, Christian Kane and William Devane. [1] Jockey Calvin Borel, who rode Mine that Bird to his upset Derby win, plays himself in the film. [2]
