Santa Clara Vanguard Drum and Bugle Corps is a competitive drum and bugle corps, based in Santa Clara, California.The Santa Clara Vanguard is one of the thirteen founding member corps of Drum Corps International (DCI) and a seven time DCI World Champion, winning the title most recently in 2018.
Myron Stewart Rosander (1960 - December 20, 2015) [1] was a performing member, visual instructor, and visual designer for the Santa Clara Vanguard Drum and Bugle Corps and later a visual designer for the Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps. [2] He was inducted posthumously into the Drum Corps International hall of fame in 2016. [3]
During this time he also began to instruct and write for another new drum corps – the Santa Clara Vanguard, with whom he would work for 12 seasons. During his tenure there, the Vanguard drumline won an unprecedented five national DCI "high drums" titles; years 1973, 1974, 1975, 1978, and 1979.

Drum Corps International (DCI) is a governing body for drum and bugle corps. Founded in 1971 and known as "marching music's major league," DCI develops and enforces rules of competition and judges at sanctioned drum and bugle corps competitions throughout the United States and Canada. It is headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana.
