Since 2010 Disney has contracted with ART to run route 20 between a Disney-owned parking lot and the Disneyland Resort. This route operates fare-free.

After succeeding with the multi-park business model at Walt Disney World resort in Florida, the Disney company decided to turn Walt Disney's original theme park into a multi-park resort complex as well.
