Damien George Rice (born 7 December 1973) is an Irish musician, singer and songwriter. [1] He began his career as a member of the 1990s rock group Juniper, who were signed to Polygram Records in 1997. The band enjoyed moderate success in Ireland with two released singles, "The World is Dead" and "Weatherman."
O is the debut studio album by Irish musician Damien Rice, originally released on 1 February 2002, in Ireland and in the United Kingdom.The album is dedicated to Rice's friend Mic Christopher, a musician who died of a head injury shortly before the album's release at the end of 2001.
The meaning of the song has been greatly speculated due to Rice not giving many interviews to promote the album explaining the lyrics.
