In February 1955, an election to expand the high school granted a bond issue of $850,000.00 by a vote of 880 to 117. [7] These funds were used to add a wing to the west end of the building that connected the school to the gymnasium and add a second story to the original building at the north end; these additions were completed in September 1956.
