Albert C. Zapanta (born March 8, 1941) is an American politician and businessman who is CEO of the Dallas-based U.S.-Mexico Chamber of Commerce, and a City Councilperson for Irving, TX. Zapanta is a former Major General who was a Green Beret from the Vietnam War and later became head of public affairs for Atlantic Richfield (ARCO).

The Irving Independent School District began integration in 1966. [4] Following integration, many of the original Bear Creek schools closed, and Black students in the area were bussed to other Irving schools.
