West Chicago is a city in DuPage County, Illinois, United States.The population was 25,614 at the 2020 census.It was formerly named Junction and later Turner Junction, after its founder, John Bice Turner, president of the Galena and Chicago Union Railroad (G&CU) in 1855.
According to a plaque in the park, it was a gift from Edward M. Quinn, whose house formerly stood on the site, in memory of his wife Mary Burkemeier Quinn. [4] [5] His will instructed that his house be demolished, a minimum of 21 trees be planted on the property, and the property deed to be given to the Chicago Park District.
