On Friday, Sept. 22, the inaugural trip was scheduled to leave the downtown Miami station at 6:41 a.m. for a 3-1/2 journey to the recently finished station at Orlando International Airport.
The flight time between MIA and MCO (Orlando International Airport) is 1 hour, though with the suggested 2 hour arrival at the airport prior to departure by airlines, the flight trip is around 3 hours (not including last mile transportation).
The complex, which was partially funded by the Florida Department of Transportation, is the current terminus of Brightline, an inter-city rail service which provides service to Miami via the Florida East Coast Railway.
