The Wapack Range, sometimes referred to as the Pack Monadnock Range, is a 20-mile-long (32 km) range of mountains in south-central New Hampshire and adjacent Massachusetts, in the northeastern United States. The range is considered very scenic and rugged with many bare summits and ledges ranging from 1,800 to 2,290 feet (550 to 700 m).

Monadnock State Park in Jaffrey, New Hampshire, United States, is a 1,017-acre (4.12 km 2) state park located on and around 3,165-foot (965 m) Mount Monadnock. The park is surrounded by thousands of acres of protected highlands. [2] The park is open to hiking, picnicking, camping, backpacking, snowshoeing and cross country skiing. [3]
The Monadnock Mountain Trail ascends the eastern slope of the mountain. The trailhead is adjacent to Vermont Route 102, 7.7 miles (12.4 km) south of Canaan and 13 miles (21 km) north of Bloomfield. The hike from the trailhead to the summit is 2.5 miles (4.0 km) with a gain in elevation of 2,130 ft (650 m). [5]
The Monadnock-Sunapee Greenway (MSG) is a 50-mile (80 km) hiking trail that traverses the highlands of southern New Hampshire from Mount Monadnock in Jaffrey to Mount Sunapee in Newbury.
Krummholz, trees stunted by harsh weather, are found on Mount Monadnock, as are several alpine bogs. [10] The northernmost stand of native rhododendron (growing naturally, not planted) in eastern North America is located just off the M&M Trail on Little Monadnock Mountain in Rhododendron State Park, New Hampshire. Jacks Canyon Trail also meanders generally north–south, with significant east–west segments, for 6.5 miles (10.5 km) through the wilderness near Sedona and Oak Creek. It connects with the steep Munds Mountain Trail, [5] from which the major Sedona-area rock formations and other landmarks in the region are visible. [6]
