Klamath Falls (/ ˈ k l æ m ə θ / KLAM-əth) is a city in, and the county seat of, Klamath County, Oregon, United States. The city was originally called Linkville when George Nurse founded the town in 1867. It was named after the Link River, on whose falls the city was sited. The name was changed to Klamath Falls in 1893. [5]

It is the longest state highway in Oregon, running 237 miles (381 km) from the community of White City, Oregon (just north of Medford), through Klamath Falls and on to Lakeview. The Link River is a short river connecting Upper Klamath Lake to Lake Ewauna in the city of Klamath Falls in the U.S. state of Oregon. [2] Draining a basin of 3,810 square miles (9,900 km 2), [5] the river begins at the southern end of Klamath Lake and flows a short distance to the Link River Dam and continues 1.5 miles (2.4 km) to the head of Lake Ewauna.
Oregon Route 62 is an Oregon state highway that runs between the city of Medford, and U.S. Route 97 between Chiloquin and Klamath Falls. The highway approaches Crater Lake National Park from the south, and is known as the Crater Lake Highway .
The highway then passes over the mountains. The highway ends at an interchange with U.S. Route 97 in Klamath Falls; just west of this interchange the highway intersects and briefly overlaps Oregon Route 140. OR 140 continues east of the US 97 interchange, past the Klamath Falls airport, and eventually towards Lakeview.
