The bar positions itself to the side of your normal trolling spread. Allowing you to fish other lures way back that are more effective than bars. The directional bars are operating in the cleanest water outside of most of the boats wake and all of the boats wash. We dont use spreader bars as teasers. For that we use dredges.

The bars pulsate in the water and are lighter than stainless. We troll. Much further back than the east coast guys and the bars need to sit up high to prevent drag. So the use of titanium and floats is a must. Swing wide around foamers with the bar a couple hundred or more yards back. Drag thru the side of the foamers.

  5. Daisy's versus Spreader Bars | Bloodydecks - BDoutdoors

A spreader bar is not a Daisy Chain, let's get that straight right off the bat. The word "SPREAD" means just that, to spread out several lines of teasers over an area "WIDE" enough to act as a school of bait fish. Hence, the reason spreader bars came into existence, to create the illusion of a bait school or pod swimming as they do naturally ...

  6. Inshore Did anyone find a spreader bar? - BDoutdoors

Needless to say, he cut off the spreader bar with a long 100lb mono leader, heavy duty snap swivel and a section of 130lb white spectra. The spreader bar had a pink stationary bird cracked down its seam at the center with pink/purple squid trailers and yellow squid hook jig. If you find it and do the right thing, good karma to you.

  7. Spreader Bar Storage | Bloodydecks - BDoutdoors

Spreader bars work but there is a much better method in my opinion. Here is a tuna cord rig I like to use with pipe jigs. Use 18" - 22" of cord with crimped swivels. A fixed 3-way swivel at the main line end of the cord vs. the sliding leader attachment also works. Better quality swivels won't hurt either.

  10. Spreader Bar Recommendations | Bloodydecks - BDoutdoors

    www.bdoutdoors.com/forums/threads/spreader-bar-recommendations.543917

Run 4 daisy chains. On a small boat that looks like a school of bait fish to the predators and a hell of a lot easier to deal with. I make my own. 3 or 4 hoochies in front of your hooked jig (I.E. Zuker, etc.), or 3 or 4 cedar plugs (4 or 6") in front of your hooked one (6 or 8") I make them just long enough that when the swivel is at the tip ...
