NOMA was a company best known for making Christmas lights.It was once the largest manufacturer of holiday lighting in the world. [citation needed] As of 2021, the rights to the brand in Canada and the United States are owned by Canadian Tire, which sells NOMA-branded products through its namesake stores in Canada, and through an e-commerce website in the United States.
Canadian Tire Petroleum (CTP), operating as Canadian Tire Gas+, is the division of Canadian Tire which operates gas stations and car washes. [2] CTP was founded in 1958 as a means of increasing customer traffic to Canadian Tire stores. [ 39 ]
Founder John Haws developed the watering can design still used by the company today while growing vanilla during his British Colonial Service in Mauritius. [1] He patented the design and formed Haws Watering Cans, but died in 1913 before having the chance to accept a Royal Horticultural Society medal and an invitation to the inaugural Chelsea Flower Show in 1913.

It was designed in Germany in the 1930s for military use to hold 20 litres (4.4 imp gal; 5.3 US gal) of fuel, and saw widespread use by both Germany and the Allies during the Second World War.
Approximately twelve million 17.5-US-gallon (66 L) cans were deployed, and could hold water for more than ten years. [ 2 ] Later, some manufacturers started to use a nitrogen flush to remove air and bacteria from their cans to prolong shelf life to 30 years or longer, making the water suitable for long-term storage.
Canadian Tire money, officially Canadian Tire 'money' [1] [2] or CTM, is a loyalty program operated by the Canadian retail chain Canadian Tire Corporation (CTC). It consists of both paper coupons introduced in 1958 and used in Canadian Tire stores as scrip, and since 2012 in a digital form introduced as Canadian Tire Money Advantage, rebranded in 2018 as Triangle Rewards.
