Offspring is an Australian television comedy-drama program that aired Network Ten from 2010 to 2017. Offspring is centred on 30-something obstetrician Nina Proudman and her family and friends as they navigate the chaos of modern life.
It is a sequel to the 2009 film Offspring. The film stars Pollyanna McIntosh, Angela Bettis, Sean Bridgers, Lauren Ashley Carter, Carlee Baker, and Alexa Marcigliano, and introduces Zach Rand and Shyla Molhusen. The film was released as part of the Bloody Disgusting Selects line. In 2019, McIntosh wrote and directed a sequel titled Darlin'.
The character died in the novel but her performance impressed both Ketchum and director Andrew van den Houten and the script was rewritten with her surviving. According to Lucky McKee, the film "started out with me pitching a sequel to the producer of the OFFSPRING film.
In 2016, England was cast to play Harry Crewe in the Australian television series Offspring. Joining the show in season 6, England said "Offspring is a really interesting show tonally. It can swing from the extreme height of comedy to serious tragedy within one episode.
