Turkey Run Wildlife Management Area, is located immediately north of Ravenswood, West Virginia in Jackson County. Turkey Run WMA is located on 27 acres (11 ha), consisting of a fishing lake and some small wooded hills around the lake. [2] The WMA is accessed from State Route 68 on the north side of Ravenswood.
Almost all of the WMA is covered in mixed oak and Virginia pine. Hunting is available for wild turkey, deer, squirrel, and ruffed grouse. It completed the season 26–11 (11–7 in the Big East) and lost to Xavier 79–75 (in overtime) in the Sweet Sixteen of the 2008 NCAA tournament. West Virginia finished the season ranked #17.
