STV Notícias is a 24-hour television news channel of the Mozambican television network STV (Soico Televisão), the first private Mozambican network which also owns the influential Mozambican newspaper O País (The Nation). It airs in the Portuguese language and it is available in cable and satellite.
Soico TV started on October 25, 2002, after a month of experimental broadcasts, [1] by former TVM employee Daniel David. Initially, the channel's programming was entirely in English, due to an affiliation agreement with the South African pan-African television network TVAfrica (at the time CTV Africa), with which it established a strong partnership.
