Granot Loma is an estate located on County Road 550 north of Marquette, Michigan, built in the tradition of the Great Camps of the Adirondacks [2] in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991. [ 1 ]
Granot Loma is a lodge constructed by Louis Graveraet Kaufman in the tradition of the Adirondack camps of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. The estate includes 5,180 acres of woodland located along the Lake Superior shore; the lodge is built of logs over a steel frame and includes a 60-foot long greatroom and 26 bedrooms. 12
The residents of Lomaland also transformed their Point Loma neighborhood by planting so many trees, orchards and shrubs that the formerly barren neighborhood is now known as the "Wooded Area". Led by Katherine Tingley, the group came to Point Loma to establish a community that would model the philosophical and humanitarian goals of Theosophy.
Baldwin is also the current owner of Granot Loma, the great American castle on the southern shore of Lake Superior in Marquette County, Michigan.
