[3] Due to this, Spring Township students interested in completing a secondary school education were relegated to do so in Cumru Township or West Reading, at the expense of the Spring Township School District. Wilson was built in 1951 [2] and opened in 1955 as an intermediate school. [6] In 1982, it reopened as an alternative school with several renovations, including a new administration building. [2] The school is named for William A. Wilson Sr., a local bakery owner and longtime Santa Clara High School board president. [6] [7] [8]
