Alterra Mountain Company is an American hospitality company established in 2018 with headquarters in Denver, Colorado. It is privately owned by KSL Capital Partners and Henry Crown and Company, the owners of Aspen/Snowmass. It is a conglomerate of several ski resorts that offers a combined season pass. [1]
Cost coverage for the free passes originally came from the National Park Service's $20-million budget for youth engagement programs. [ 1 ] [ 10 ] [ 11 ] The National Park Foundation and National Park Service will provided transportation grants and educational materials to schools, with a focus on schools that have greater need.

Wolf Creek Ski Area (WCSA) is a ski area in southwest Colorado, located on the Wolf Creek Pass between Pagosa Springs and South Fork. It is best known for receiving more average annual snowfall than any other resort in Colorado, at about 430 inches per year.
The ski area was sold in 1972 to Joe Jankovsky. He in turn sold the area to Ralston Purina in 1978. Alterra Mountain Company is now the owner. [3] Arapahoe Basin became the first ski resort in the United States to open for the 2006–2007 season on October 13. It repeated for the 2007–2008 ski area by opening at 9:00 a.m. on October 10. [4]
