Meritus Park is a multi-purpose stadium in Hagerstown, Maryland.It replaced Hagerstown's old Municipal Stadium which was demolished in 2022. The facility was built primarily for the Hagerstown Flying Boxcars, a team in the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball, but it can also host other sports, outdoor concerts, festivals and community events.
Flying Boxcars was announced as the team name on July 20, 2023. [4] The name honors Fairchild Aircraft's production of C-82 and C-119 cargo planes at the Hagerstown Regional Airport. [4] Fairchild Aircraft was at one point the largest employer in Washington County, Maryland, of which Hagerstown is the county seat.
