The area's name is from the intersection of three streets—Irving Park Road, Cicero Avenue and Milwaukee Avenue. [1] Its history as an urban center began in the 1840s, eventually becoming the largest commercial center in Chicago, outside of the Loop. [2]
The first "drugstores" in North America "appeared in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, Boston, New York, and Philadelphia," [11] with likely proto-drugstores—for example Gysbert van Imbroch ran a "general store" that sold drugs from 1663 to 1665 in Wildwyck, New Netherland, [12] today's Kingston, New York—preceding the dedicated apothecary shops of the 1700s, and providing a model.

Irving Park is an 'L' station on the CTA's Brown Line.It is an elevated station with two side platforms, located in Chicago's North Center neighborhood. The stations adjacent to Irving Park are Montrose, one half mile (0.8 km) to the north, and Addison, one half mile (0.8 km) to the south.
The original company, called MedPartners Inc., was founded as a physician and pharmacy benefits management company in 1993. [1] It was founded in Birmingham, Alabama by former HealthSouth chief executive Richard Scrushy. [1] Scrushy, HealthSouth, and New Enterprise Associates were the initial investors in the company. [2]
