"Ludhiana–Bathinda Expressway" is an approved 75.543 km long ₹ 1,716.17 crore (US$200 million) standalone greenfield project. It begins from the Delhi–Amritsar–Katra Expressway at "Ballowal" village 10 km southwest of Ludhiana and end at the Rampura Phul near Bathinda on the "Amritsar–Bathinda Expressway" section of the larger "Amritsar–Jamnagar Expressway".

Amritsar–Jamnagar Expressway [3] (NH-754A) is an under-construction 1,257 km long, 6-lane wide expressway in the north-western part of India. The expressway will reduce the distance between Amritsar and Jamnagar from earlier 1,430 km to 1,316 km (including Kapurthala-Amritsar section) and the time travel from 26 hours to only 13 hours.
In February 2015, doubling of track between Rajpura–Patiala–Bathinda was sanctioned. [ 3 ] In 2016, electrification of the single broad-gauge railway line from Rajpura to Dhuri junction is under progress which is being executed by Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd. [ 4 ]
