BISE Peshawar was established in 1961 by the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.Previously, it was conducting the examination of intermediate and secondary education for the whole Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province but later, new educational boards were established in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by the government and now its jurisdiction is Peshawar Division.

2024 Elections The Elections of 2024 resulted in PTI-backed Independents getting a 2/3 majority in the provincial assembly,most of them joined The Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) in order to get reserved seats for woman and minorities.
The assembly was formed after the provincial elections held on February 8, 2024. The first session of this assembly began on February 28, 2024. [ 1 ] There are 145 seats in the assembly, including 115 general seats, 22 reserved for women and 3 seats for non-Muslims.
