There are some by other companies based on Ruger SA. that may be better but Ruger SAs are the standard. The Heritage is popular only. because of low price.

Posts: 1,187. I have both the Ruger Single Six and a Colt New Frontier 22. The Ruger and the Colts that come with both the 22LR and 22Mag cylinders have barrel bores made to shoot the lager 22Mag. round, which is .002" larger than the 22LR. Now if you buy a Ruger that was made before they came out with the convertibles or a New Frontier who's ...

Spray in from the grip area, the hammer, the cylinder area, and trigger area. There will be no more gunk in it at that point, so oil and re-assemble.

The Ruger single-six is very practical. You get a 22LR cylinder for cheap plinking and a 22WMR cylinder for getting down to business. Your accuracy should be similar to than of any light recoiling single action Ruger (excellent). People here debate wether you benefit from the intended velocity of a 22WMR out of a pistol.

  6. What price to expect on used Ruger Single Six? - The Firing Line

    thefiringline.com/forums/showthread.php?t=430354

As the topic name implies, I'm wondering what prices I might expect to pay on a good used Ruger Single Six (22lr/22mag variety). I suppose if I bought it directly from another person, that may be cheapest, but let's assume it would be from a shop/store. Also, let's assume sort of a basic model.

Posts: 184. single six shoots too high. I finally got to take my new 5.5 in 22 cal single six to the indoor range for sighting in. I started at 5 yards and right away was shooting 3 inches too high. After numerous adjustments and different ammo the best I could do was 1 to 1.5 inches too high with the rear sight maxed out.

  8. Best 22 mag ammo / Ruger Single Six Hunter - The Firing Line

Based on my experience hunting small game for the last 40 so years: the .22 Mag. in a pistol is much louder in the wood then .22lr! The .22 Mag. pistol is about as effective as a .22lr rifle in power. But not accuracy. Again this is my experience. .22Mag. is a great cartridge for up to 30 pound game. Have fun!

Posts: 134. Ruger Single-Six Question. Hi guys! Not too big of a revolver guy, although I do own a couple. Well, I just stopped at a local pawn shop out of curiosity to investigate if they carried firearms (I live in So. Cal. ) and to my surprise they do! In the gun case they have a Ruger Single-Six in what apears to be a flat top fixed sight ...

  10. Question about Ruger Single Six in .32 H&R Mag - The Firing Line

    thefiringline.com/forums/showthread.php?t=605208

The other Single Six is a 5-1/2" model with adjustable sights. It's throats measure 0.312+" by just a hair. Hornady 100 gr XTP bullets measuring 0.312" on the nose, easily slip through the cylinder throats, but a cast bullet sized 0.313" will not pass. For this gun, again I use 0.312" lead alloy bullets.
