It's in writing in the Subaru warranty under "wear items" that are covered. You also have a current TSB available for brake squeal the may apply to your vehicle. 2023 Ascent Touring (CWP)
In the market for first Subaru, concerns about 2019-2020 Ascent CVT. We're in the market for a mid sized SUV to fit 5 and I have always admired the reliability of Subarus and the AWD. But the CVT transmission concerns me, as our budget would likely require us to buy an Ascent that is about 4 years old.
Some, mostly 2019, did have issues with the CVT wiring harness, not the CVT itself. Once that problem was identified and resolved the chatter about CVT problems has died off dramatically! 2019 Subaru Transmission / CVT issue. Been a loyal Subaru owner for over 15 years and now doubting my wisdom of upgrading to a 2019 Ascent. It has 16K miles on it and was doing just fine until last week when the transmission busted on the highway at 70 mph. Managed to get it under control with the family yelling and screaming.
Hello! I have had my 2020 Ascent since April 2020. I purchased it brand new, and to this point it has been a good car with a few minor inconveniences. However, I am worried the transmission is going out. Over the last couple of weeks I have noticed an uptick in the amount of brief “shutters” that occur in the CVT upon acceleration.
Our eyesight quit on our 2019 completely, It was off warranty and cost $5200.00 to replace, then told by dealership that this is a common occurrence when it gets below -35 degrees C below zero. I have tried to have Subaru canada at the very least acknowledge the problem, but to no avail.
